Well. This is where it gets fun and depends on how you count it.

There are 59 National Parks. Then there are National Monuments. And National Historic Parks which are different from National Historic Sites. And National Wildlife Preserves and National Recreation Areas and….

It adds up to 401 sites managed by the NPS but only 59 of those are parks. :)
