Nobody has denied that there are many, many leftist troofers, but the initial impetus came from the ready-made world of commercial conspiracy theories, where people like Hovind, Alex Jones, and the detestable neo-nazi Carol Valentine have been dominant for many years. It is hard to define these kooks in conventional political terms, but they are certainly not leftists.
