Steel fails at room temperature if you overload it, which is what happened to the WTC perimeter columns once they were laterally unsupported by the floor framing.

The columns became 3 floors long, thus too slender & they buckled.

Any structural engineer would tell you.

Add to that, that steel’s strength is reduced by more than 50% when heated to the temperature of burning jet fuel. Therefore, steel does not need to melt to weaken and fail.

I’m shocked that the buildings held on for as long as they did.
