I think so too, otherwise disbanding the House Intel Committee investigation carries too much downside risk with no upside. With the House investigation still going Nunes can run interference, subpoena witnesses, selectively leak testimony and issue more bullshit memos. Shutting it down seems clearly to be a predicate maneuver intended to create the rationale for firing Rosenstein & Muelller that Nunes’ memo failed to provide.

If they manage to get away with firing Mueller, it’s pretty much over at that point, isn’t it? I can’t see any way to actually leverage any pushback short of utter domination in both of the upcoming Congressional elections, this midterm and ‘20. And we’ve seen how swiftly nearly every single other agency has been defanged completely.
