I know I can’t. When I read some of the recent things from the far-left at times it’s almost indistinguishable from the Tea Party or the far-right. There’s a lot of overlap and shared “values.”
That’s partially because the single left-right axis is a lousy model for the spectrum of political/social thought that is out there. If you add the second libertarian/authoritarian axis like some models do you can get a big spectrum on the left-right X axis, and all these folk way up there on the Y-axis where the libertarian views put them in common.
And even then you’re dealing with a poor model since even then I suspect there is a lot of variation from case-to-case based on pet issues.
