The 2008 Sarah Palin model wasn’t as tuned in to the way the right wing works. She was ugly to the core, but I think she was more stupid than nasty. She was only the running mate for about 10 weeks, and they held her back from the media a lot, not to mention debate prep (ha!). I think she threw away all inhibition after the election. I’m not defending anybody, she was the choice of a coward, and it was obvious at the time. The operative words for her in the fall of 2008 were stupid and dishonest.
