Not being a dick here, but your quoted post stirs me to make a disclaimer in defense of reality.
I can assure you that my ancestors never owned slaves. In fact, they lived their lives more like slaves than as free men, and that was as white men in 19th Century Boston.
If it wasn’t for Northerners like my forebears, slavery could still well exist in this country the way it does in scores of others.
