This reminds me of football and baseball stadium which are publicly funded. Airports are another big source of government assistance.

Not all. Fenway Park and Gillette Field have had minimal public funding, mostly for road and train station improvements.
And that hasn’t exactly hurt the Red Sox and the Patriots.
