His popularity around here is something I’ve never understood. He did nothing for 8 straight years as gov and managed to wrangle that into a senate seat where he’s continued along the path of not really doing anything of note.

The fact that he doesn’t rock the boat and cause national issues, while still bringing home the bacon, probably contributes a lot to it. Plus, he’s reasonably charismatic.
