Very good analysis. This paragraph in particular shows some people Beijing understand the Trumps better than most journalists in the USA (cough - Maggie Haberman - cough)

That’s exactly how Trump & Co. think of themselves — the owners of the USA. In China, the emperors had the same deep-seated belief until, suddenly, they weren’t in power anymore. I await the day when the same reality smacks Donnie Smallhands in the face.

It’s like I’ve said before, Donny doesn’t see himself as President of the United States of America, he sees himself as CEO of United States, Inc. Which is what frustrates him so greatly, that the presidency does not afford him the same level of unquestioned power that he had as CEO of his own company. He can’t rule by fiat, he can’t fired people on a whim, he has to actually treat others with some modicum of deference even if he refuses to respect them, and he can’t bribe the local law enforcement into looking the other way.

It’s why he’s just checked out of the job and left it to his underlings to do, because he gets to take the credit for any successes and any failures he can (and does) blame entirely on them.
