Yeah, I’m going off topic early here, but this is really icky behavior:

If Republicans can’t make it constitutional to ban same sex marriages in Iowa, give people the right to treat them like second class citizens. (Jim Crow v2.0 anyone?)

Now mind you the bill doesn’t explicitly mention Same Sex Relationships or Marriages, though it’s the intent according to the writers, now mind you, this could open the door to all sorts of mischief. Effectively it gives any religion that practices any sort of hate or discrimination free reign. And, it’s Iowa, which is about 3 million last census, of which 60K is Black, 9000 American Indian, and 80K Hispanic and Latino. The Jewish community has about 6,400 members and Muslims numbered about 4,700, so as you can see, it’s about as homogeneous a group as you’re going to find.

So in other words, if you’re a same sex couple and get homeless, don’t expect help. If you’re a same sex couple of and get stranded on the side of the road, it’ll be perfectly ok for the tow truck to leave you there. It’ll also be perfectly ok for Ambulances to not take you to the hospital, or have a hospital refuse service to you if you have a heart attack. Sure, they’re extreme cases, but that’s what they’re giving clearance to with this bill.

I wonder what the folks supporting this would have to say if a Muslim store owner refused service to women not covering their hair.
