I actually met Rush Limbaugh back in the nineties. He was delivering some sort of address to the young Republicans or some group like that, while I was talking to an ROTC class across the way. I ran across him on the sidewalk outside, with his entourage. I had dressed up in my army reserve uniform for the ROTC presentation, something I rarely did on campus. I shook his hand and said hello. To his credit, Limbaugh recognized my Vietnam service ribbon and thanked me for my service. Having read about his dubious draft deferment, I wanted to blurt out, “Great! But where the fuck were you?” I stayed diplomatic though and thanked him for visiting our humble institution.
