Woah, let’s not get into that debate :) I think there are bloggers who are journalists, and journalists who are bloggers. There isn’t any “license” to be a journalist, so it’s a huge Rorschach test of a profession. But I agree that there are far too many people who use the term who don’t know WTF they are talking about.

Sure, but making shit up as you go along isn’t “journalism” by any stretch of the imagination, and lambasting those who actually do use facts as a defense is just incorrigible.

There are too many of those out there, IMHO.

It’s been a long time since my 9th grade journo class, but I still remember some of the rules—and those types we’re discussing just aren’t using them. To them, opinions, rumors and stuff they just make up operate on the same level as facts and are, in many instances, interchangeable.
