It’s been commented on so many times before, but it really does feel like the end of some despotic regime in a third world banana republic.

I am thinking more of Ceaucescu coming out on the balcony of his Presidential Palace and starting his final speech with “These are dangerous times…” and the crowd drowning him out with chants of “Temesvar! Temesvar!” (the site of a massacre perpetrated by his security forces)
