Ramachandran was featured in a recent New Yorker profile. He has, among other things, developed a technique using an ordinary mirror that relieves “phantom limb” pain in a majority of patients.

No one has ever come up with a reliable treatment for that before. He does it with a mirror and simple tromp l’oeil.

He’s a genius.

And without hitting the “alarm” button on his key fob, he can’t find his car in a parking lot!
