re: #369 Blind Frog Belly White

I also found that puzzling. But remember, he got where he is by running against the GOP establishment. And also that he’s vindictive as hell, and needs to dominate, and be seen to dominate. Withholding endorsement from Ryan, and talking up his primary opponent, is punishment for Ryan’s delay in endorsing Trump after he clinched the nomination. He’s basically telling Ryan he’s the boss, that Ryan can no longer un-endorse him, that he’s stuck, but Trump can endorse him or not as he chooses. Ayotte, also, is insufficiently obsequious. McCain? He just hates McCain.

I’m not sure that Trump realizes how much he’s damaging the GOP, and I’m not really sure he cares. He’s NEVER cared about the Congress, or Governorships, or state legislatures. He doesn’t even care about governing. He cares about WINNING, and being seen winning. So he’s not going to give a flying crap about the downticket races, though at this point they might do better by running AWAY from him.

That’s very true and that’s probably why they won’t be able to remove him as the nominee. They already have a base that mistrusts them immensely. Trump was their voters choice. If they attempted to do that, they’d have an even uglier civil war on their hands. I think they probably know Trump is lost and are attempting to save the Senate and minimize damage to teh House at this point. And then act like in 2020 that Trump had nothing to do with their party. Thing is though, Trump is going to put a black mark on the GOP for a long time IMO.
