When I worked in the auto industry, we were told time and time again that the American market was all about horsepower, that you couldn’t sell anything on the basis of fuel efficiency.

It’s really a self-fulfilling prophecy as much as anything else.

On the other hand, I had my first “in the paint” sighting of a Volt last week. Fucking cool and I want one.
