Eh, not really. It’s constitutional clarification in a high visibility case. Despite the hyperbole it boils down to whether Chavez can wait till he is out of the hospital to take the oath or whether he has to be re-elected in a special election before he takes that oath. Oh, sure, he might not win the re-election. And the US House may approve the next budget Obama submits.

I assume that if the cancer wins this issue is mute. What happens next, the VP takes over or is there a new election?
