I just did a quick search on Gilberton, mainly because we’re looking at some places in the Poconos for vacation, and I don’t want us to be anywhere near this lunatic when the shooting starts.

Huff Po is making the claim that essentially the town is like Charming, CA, the fictional locale for the Sons of Anarchy drama on FX.

I hope to God that’s not true, but I’m getting a bit concerned that indeed another Ruby Ridge is in the offing. Given the Tea Bagging of the GOP, I’m also worried that Republicans like Governor Corbett on down will just sit on their hands until it’s too late.

Funny how the NRA is keeping out of this.

That the Republicans, or indeed, any officials will ignore this until it’s too late is a legitimate concern; it’s made all the worse by the fact that Kessler has followers in the form of his militia. I’m sure there’s nothing these folks would like more than some kind of standoff with the state or federal authorities. As I said, such a scenario would no doubt end in a good deal of violence.
