You jest but I can’t tell you the number of right wingers that have told me that Hitler was a leftist because of that. I try bringing up that his allies were German industrialists, militant right wing nationalists and that his main enemies were after the Jews- Communists, Social Democrats, and Trade Union members and they just ignore it. I wlil grant that Nazism differs from traditional right wingi politics in the European sense that it’s not tied to the monarchy or a church but there’s no doubt at all that Nazism was a rightist ideology.

I snarked about it a few posts back, but Gregor and Otto Strasser were two Nazi alten Kämpfer who took the “Socialist” part of National Socialist too seriously. It was fatal for them….
