I have traveled on many international and domestic airplane flights and listened to other passengers chatting with one another in various languages, yes including Arabic. No one ever caused a disturbance or was removed from the flight for speaking in their native language. I don’t believe it is a “thing” that happens on a regular basis.

It was not long after 9/11 that I found myself on a flight seated next to a Middle Eastern-looking gentleman in a suit, and I really had to overcome my urge to look under his shirt to see if he had shaved and perfumed his body…
