I can relate to changing track. If you overheat (burn) the track “live” bushings there is a good chance they’ll throw a track soon after. A temporary win, but still.
Having thrown a track I can say I’d rather fix it right away then drive it until it breaks and hits something at speed. Can image what that would do in an urban area, or traffic.

Spent some quality time working with DATs as a 19D. Tank maintenance sucks. Though nothing is more fun than replacing a torsion bar in the field, in the mud, at night. Ah memories.
