Rape is the word used to document sexual assault on women, but not for sexual assault on men.

Thus, men can’t be raped.

I seem to remember that this has been changed in the last round of updates to the crime definitions—very recently.

There was a story circulating in the town in which I used to live about I guy I personally didn’t know who, while intoxicated at the beach at night on New Year’s Eve was digitally penetrated by a male and female duo in company with others. When I heard the story, told by a friend, I was shocked out of my mind. Worse, others present laughed as if the victim had had nothing violated but his pride. It was a small-minded and boring town but I could see it happening and going unreported anywhere.
