Yes.

My point is that religious observance, or following as religious leader has nothing to with how you are supposed to live your life.

Religious instruction is meant to provide you with the tools to make moral decisions that affect your life- no more, no less. You are supposed to make those choices for yourself.

Religious leaders are not meant to speak for God- He can speak for Himself.
