I have a dear friend from many years ago who’s been an AUSA in the midwest since the Obama administration. He’s been pretty taciturn these last few years about his job. I suspect he’ll have a little more to say in a couple of months. (Though he’s in the criminal division and there’s nothing very political about his day-to-day work, as best I can tell.)

The problem is you can’t get good people of they think every four years could become untenable.
