And that all makes a lot of sense, which is why I don’t see it being part of the GOP’s platform. I think we’ll see the eventual candidate, whoever they may be, pushing the “Drill, Baby, Drill” mantra. Calls for opening up more areas to domestic drilling, more deregulation, and potentially beefing up the domestic refinery infrastructure. Sell it all under the blanket of “job creation” and/or “energy independence.” Talk down the idea of investment in alt. energy and nuclear energy as “expensive,” something we “can’t afford” right now, as well as any calls for new regulations (carbon tax, CAFE standards, etc) as being “job killers.”
