According to this site that offers native German pronunication of said word, “cock” is indeed the closest English equivalent (click the little blue triangle icon to hear the audio - sounds a lot more like “cock” than “cook” or “coke”)

There’s a Dr Koch I know, who also pronounces it ‘Cook’. As it happens, his first name is Mike. He also happens to be one of the best and most well known urologists in the country.

Now, if it were me, and I was one of the world’s foremost surgeons who just happened to deal with the penis, with all the attendant prestige and gravitas, and my name also happened to be easily pronounceable as ‘my cock’, I would totally own it. And I’d look people in the eye and dare them to laugh as they said it.
