Oh, she liked them. She still likes those soft peppermint candies. She also liked those nougats with the jellied fruit in them, which I would avoid in favor of the butterscotch or cinnamon hard candies.

I don’t like peppermint nougat. Give me a bag of starlight mints or candy canes at Christmas and I’m good with that. Or some of that Ghirardelli peppermint bark. That stuff rules.

Candy that I thought was gross when I was a kid (and is still totally gross):
in no particular order
1. Black licorice
2. Mary Janes (peanut butter nougat)
3. Good ‘n’ Plenty
4. Necco wafers
5. Bit o’ Honey
6. Peter Paul Mounds & Almond Joy
7. Chuckles
8. Jujubes
9. Joyva jelly rings (see above)
10. Whitman’s sampler jellies they snuck between the cremes & caramels.
