So he did the jobs, but that sounds like undercover boss. He hasn’t lived the life. Until then it’s really just words. It’d be like saying “I saw a documentary on poor people therefore i personally know what it’s like to be poor”.

He was also campaigning and trying to look like a regular guy. These weren’t attempts at understanding - they were photo ops.
