re: #34 ckkatz

Representative Nadler, recently tweeted that if the Senate Judiciary Committee will not ‘vet’ (investigate carefully and fully) Kavanaugh, the House Judiciary Committee would.

The implication being that the House of Representatives, if it changes to Democratic control after the November Elections, would conduct a thorough investigation.

Others should feel free to correct me, but I believe in the case of an impeachment, the House of Representatives acts as the prosecution and the Senate acts as the jury.

In the end, impeachment is a political rather than criminal process.

I believe a SCOTUS judge was once impeached in 1804 but not convicted. Others more learned here will correct me or provide more information.
