I thought the Park 51 opponents were saying that it wasn’t about race and or religion. That is to say that they were also claiming to welcome and have Muslims (although this man is not) amongst their ranks. Apparently not and anyone who was perceived as having any characteristics of appearing to be Muslim would be turned upon by an angry crowd at this protest.
