I started reading the first book, and couldn’t get past the first 100 or so pages, but the TV series really grabbed me. I may go back and read the books now that I have a general idea of the plot’s movement.

I’ve never read George R. R. Martin till the GoT books, but I’ve learned since that he tends to write long.

The first two books were surprisingly fast reads for me despite their length. The story grabbed me and held on tight.

The third book is called A Storm of Swords. It’s almost 1180 pages on my Kindle. I’ve been stuck at page 146 for a while. I had to put the book down and read other things just to clear my head because it’s so dense. And now with this new job I’ve had to put aside reading for fun until I get the hang of things. I’m hoping that now that I’m getting into a rhythm I’ll be fine.
