re: #369 De Kolta Chair
When I was in college, one of my classmates who attended most of the art school parties was arrested and convicted as a serial rapist. Until his arrest and the facts were reported, most of us thought he was a nice guy.
He was nice enough to me, although the subsequent coverage found he could be very pushy towards women/inappropriate behavior. It’s possible the part where my desktop wallpaper at the time was a photo of me with my then-boyfriend made it clear that I wasn’t likely to be interested and I got spared that.
Or he tried and I was oblivious. Also possible.
I considered him at best an acquaintance and it was still the most spine-crawlingly terrifying feeling, to read about the case and see his photo and realize that I knew him.
He got life in prison. I hope that he doesn’t get parole for a long, long time.
