The Critique of Pure Reason is one of the more profound intellectual projects I’ve ever engaged in.
1. I have not. If I did, none of it stuck. (OhCrapIHaveACrushOnSarahPalin, my late father claimed that reading it in German was essential.)
2. No, when Churchill said that it is no bad thing for an uneducated man to read books of quotations, he was talking about me. (Figuratively: I don’t actually read books of quotations.)
Though I have the greatest respect and admiration for Housman.
