OT advice request-I was on my 2 year old Dell laptop lurking, etc here for about 3 hours. It was plugged in and it started making a click-clicking continuous noise from it’s guts (not the speaker). Afraid it was about to die, I shut it completely down and switched to the DT. Has anyone experienced anything similar and had a non-fatal, non blue screen of death outcome?

Was it kind of a metallic sound? Might be harddrive failure. Are you in a spot to make a backup? If so, do so.

What’s a DT?
