It’s not “being able to handle it”, its that it a no-win scenario for him. If he plays it cool, then he looks like he’s getting hammered by his political critics, since the liberal hosts of the show will not credit him with a point even if he scores one (MBF: conservatives would be just as unwilling to concede anything, likely moreso). If Mitt snarls back at Joy Behar, by contrast, then he just looks like an asshole for going after a woman.

It’s smart at times for conservative women to go on “The View”, but conservative men should avoid it unless they possess William F. Buckley-level verbal skills, which Mitt Romney does not.

In other words, he’s not able to handle it.
