Because it’s unhelpful to the peace process. What did Kerry’s warning help? What was the purpose? Would Kerry warn the Palestinians about becoming an Islamist terrorist state? No, it would piss them off and they’d be less willing to negotiate. Would he warn Iran about becoming a dark ages theocracy? No, that would piss them off and derail nuclear negotiations. Would be warn Assad or Putin or Maduro with an obvious insult? no. I really can’t see why this was a good diplomatic move. It hasn’t helped the peace process yet and it’s unlikely to help.
