re: #359 prononymous

In some ways I agree with both WUB and Researchok. It does feel a little ridiculous to compare internet trolls and stalkers to people actively engaged in violence. But the other side to this is that I feel that most bad behavior by humans is the result of common forces such as hatred, greed, obsession, delusion, fantasy, ignorance, boredom etc. That most negative behaviors could be compared as simply relative amounts of these factors.

I don’t agree that untreated pathology always gets worse though, that’s not how it works. Most pathological organisms have evolved to not kill their host. Rather they try to feed off the host as much as possible while keeping them alive and healthy enough so they can continue to do so over an extended period of time.

But isn’t that an argument for it getting worse? I know next to nothing about this from an academic standpoint, but it’s an obsession and sometimes untreated obsessions can spiral out of control.

The M.E. conflict analogy? I’d go for an obsession before that. I mean, Research made a statement “All they have to do is walk away and ignore the source of their discomfort, but they can’t. They escalate their pathologies all by themselves.” As to Israel, they supply food, water and fuel to the territories so neither side can simply “walk away.” The disgruntled fans, yea, if they get tired enough or distracted enough, or at least acknowledge the whole negative energy output.
