Yeah, I have no clue, right now, whether I can expect an income of like forty thousand in the next year or a hundred thousand. It all depends on the way a few things shake out.

Thankfully, I’m a salaried consultant, so my income is reliable. Which is what I need for my particular lot in life right now. In addition, the client to whom I have been contracted has been extremely pleased with my quality of work, to the point where they’re having internal fights over whose project gets to use me next. This, unfortunately, is also the underlying source of the bureaucratic mess that has caused the delay in getting me additional work, which has left me more or less bored (depending on how many bug reports I’m given to fix on any particular day).
