Alt-right trend younger and generally don’t try to hide their racism (at least online). Overlap heavily with 4chan culture, embrace anime avatars and believe that messaging via memes is effective. The alt-right generally doesn’t even give lip service to traditional conservative small government ideals, flat tax, social security reform or economic freedom. Their entire raison d’etre is racial and cultural revanchism. They’re primarily whites expressing anger over the loss of a perceived ethnic birthright.

Thank you for the detailed explanation. I still don’t see that much difference (other than the anime avatars) between them and the run-of-the-mill old racists in this state. Remember, this state was one of the first to go all in for Trump (my county was his biggest win with 49%, and that was back when there were a LOT of candidates.)
