It’s a change in the tax law. Companies that used to get a federal write-off for prescription drug coverage for retirees don’t get that write-off anymore.

It’s not a new tax. It’s not a bill. It’s the end of a writeoff that subsidized a private company offering a private benefit.

Frankly, it’s really only going to impact very large companies… Not many small companies cover benefits in retirement. In fact, not many companies at all offer retirement benefits.
