You can get a puppy. There are lots of them, waiting for homes. I meant just don’t buy one and contribute to the backyard breeders.

I had a boss who bought a puppy. He actually spent several days researching the breeder he ultimately used. It took that long to make sure that there were no shenanigans and that they were properly caring for the dogs. He did that because he wanted a Labrador Retriever and wanted to use his dog to actually retrieve ducks and geese (he’s a hunter). So it is possible to purchase from a breeder, but you really do have to look very carefully.
