I don’t think TPM is going out of it’s way to carry water for Boehner. It would appear that Boehner had prior engagements, and he just couldn’t go. Maybe he should have cancelled them, but I think it would be best to just give the guy the benefit of the doubt.

I mean, keep in mind the reason Boehner stayed behind was to attend a vigil in DC.
