For the record, I am not discounting your statements about gang signs, because from my teaching experience I know some schools in Louisville, KY, and elsewhere switched to uniforms to minimize the gang colors problem. I find fault with your over-generalization of “gangs are in every city” and the specific proposal that the Dallas shooter was somehow motivated by gang rivalry, based on one woman’s shoe color.

As for myself, I had suggested that the shooter was some kind of sov cit type, or a militia member, or a neo-Nazi trying to foment a riot, based on the tactics and the targets (police officers). Well, you know, I was mostly wrong. Maybe you could admit the same about the shoe color thing.

Why is the idea that there are gangs in every city so outrageous? What could you possibly think to believe this is true? Do I need to search Google for news stories on every city to show there are active gangs in each?

And what am I supposed to admit I was wrong about? I was trying to guess the motives of someone and what looked like their accomplice that DPD said was one of the main shooters. I never judged whether they were guilty or not, I tried to take their appearance and figure out some motive. Just like when the Waco bar shootout happened and I looked at pictures and found in their clothing and tattoos that this was a gang shootout including whites supremacists bikers. I guess this means… something. I am still blown away at how little you know about gangs and why you feel the need to make such sweeping claims even with all the citations I have shown about a dozen random news stories with gang problems. Name a city and I bet I can find news stories about gangs. White. Black. Hispanic. You name it. There are gangs moving drugs and other illegal stuff that makes money. Welcome to… reality
