I don’t see this as a bad thing necessarily. If the workers own a majority of the company then they themselves will have to govern from the inside, rather than make demands from the outside. The only problem here is that it is the UAW, not the workers themselves, that will be owning the shares. We will now see for the first time if the UAW really puts the best interests of the workers first or if they use it as a stepping stone to consolidate power and influence for the UAW.
