re: #25 Dopamine Fish

As far as I’m aware, they reduce the likelihood of transmission FROM an infected individual by an amount that is yet to be determined, but is at least slightly greater than zero; and they do an incredibly good job of preventing serious damage, death, or long-term consequences. At that point, if we can get enough people fully vaccinated, to where it is universally true in the United States that you are more likely to be vaccinated than unvaccinated in an area, then I would feel safe in saying, “OK, still take reasonable precautions, but we’re going to transition to this thing being endemic.”

I should have qualified my statement that they were mediocre compared to their effectiveness vs earlier variants. Omicron is far more likely than earlier variants to cause breakthrough infections among the vaccinated and previously infected.
