Speaking of election. I’m happy to report that I appear to be surrounded by a whole bunch of relatively sane people. Small potatoes compared to the big election this week but it still has a direct affect on my day to day life. Municipal elections were held this week and the wonderful electorate decided that enough was enough and turfed the entire town council. It was a sound turfing too. This past town council were utter idiots that spent all their time fighting with each other to the point where the town lost out on some major development (which we need) because the companies didn’t want to deal with the putzes. It wasn’t political fighting either, no leftie right debate just pure personal vendetta crap that would be hilarious if it didn’t have such real consequences to area.

I was surprised when I read the results because I had fallen into some cynicism about the whole thing. It restored my faith in my fellow humans (and neighbors). Plus the guy I wanted to be mayor got in which was also unexpected. The assumed front runner did sit on council before and I expect that was enough for people to vote for the other guy.

I’m usually wary about a totally virgin council but this case is an exception. I’m not sure how it could be worse then it was.
