Boy, Herm Cain sure mishandled this.

I’m certainly not a Herman “9-9-9” Cain apologist, but the fact that someone who spent his life managing people and restaurants had a sexual harassment claim against him that was settled wouldn’t change my mind one way or another.

He should have simply said, when confronted with it, “Yes, it’s true. There was a sexual harassment claim against me that resulted in a settlement” and moved on. I guarantee that not one Herman Cain supporter would suddenly have become a Mitt Romney supporter because of this admission.

Instead he tried to soft-pedal it, beat around the bush (sorry!), etc.
