After reading the exchange, I found it to be clear. However the factor that I rarely see addressed in such discussions that is the greatest point of environmental concern of which I am aware is air quality. Crop growing, animal/insect/bird migration, etc. isn’t really an issue if the methane release that is going on even now poisons the atmosphere to prevent existing biological forms to survive. With the thawing of permafrost these “earth farts” are deadly with extinction level effects.

The potential tipping point of methane release is certainly huge w/r/t the greenhouse effect. It’s interesting, though, that I haven’t read anything about the impact of permafrost release of methane as a pollutant (well, the GHG effect is also as a pollutant, but I think you get what I mean). Part of that may be because the permafrost release might be more localize to lightly populated areas, and may not “globalize?’ If you have a link, I’d love to read it.
