I remember when I was kid my dad got a rather large bonus one year and donated a chunk of it to a local charity. For years after, they proceeded to BOMBARD him with phone calls and mailers begging him to donate again. It got so bad he went to down to the local office and asked to speak to the person in charge.

He then said very calmly that while he supported the charitys cause he did not appreciate in any way, shape or form their constant attempts to get more money from him and as a result he would never donate to the charity again.

I can’t help but wonder how many non profits shoot themselves in the foot with this kind of crap.
